Ari Shafer HP: Class 3 on the Cart, 1.9 kg or 1.92

Ari’s Shafer HP page, opened 13 October 2026, lists a Class 3 gravel bike that assists to 28 mph. The motor is a TQ HPR60, 60 newton-meters, and 350 watts, at 1.9 kilograms. BikeRumor the same day prints 1.92 kilograms and calls the 350 watts a peak. The pack is 360 watt-hours. Sport is $4,899. An older pre-order page still says the Team build is a $10,499 target.

The short answer

Ari’s Shafer HP page says Class 3, assist to 28 mph, a TQ HPR60 at 60 newton-meters and 350 watts, and a motor weight of 1.9 kilograms. BikeRumor prints 1.92 kilograms and calls 350 a peak. The pack is 360 watt-hours. Sport is $4,899. An older pre-order page still lists the Team build at $10,499.

The Ari Shafer HP is a carbon gravel bike with a TQ motor in the bottom bracket, not a hub and not a class this desk invented. Ari’s product page, opened 13 October 2026, says it is a Class 3 e-bike and that it assists up to 28 mph. The same page prints a TQ HPR60, 60 newton-meters, 350 watts, and a motor weight of 1.9 kilograms, which they also print as 4.18 pounds. BikeRumor, the same afternoon, prints 1.92 kilograms or 4.2 pounds, and calls the 350 watts a peak. One point nine times 2.2 is 4.18. One point nine two times 2.2 is 4.22, which they rounded to 4.2. Do not average the two weights into 1.91. This desk did not weigh one and did not find a public film of the bike.

Ari’s Shafer HP page and BikeRumor, both 13 October 2026. The pre-order row is an older Ari page that was still up. A blank is a number that page did not print.

The cart

Five complete bikes and a frame kit, all with the same drive unit on Ari’s spec table. Sport $4,899. Comp $5,499. Elite $5,999. Pro $6,999. Team $9,899. Frameset $4,199. The frameset row is not a bare carbon frame. The table puts the TQ HPR60 and the TQ 360 watt-hour battery on that row, plus a Praxis crank and a 42-tooth ring. BikeRumor’s colors are Emerald Metallic and Clay Gray Bone. Ari’s page this desk opened did not print the color names in the spec block. Lead time is whatever the builder shows for that size. That is not “in stock today.”

Ari Shafer HP graphic: TQ HPR60 at 60 Nm, 360 watt-hour pack, Class 3 to 28 mph, optional 160 watt-hour bottle
The sheet on this page. The motor is a TQ HPR60 at 60 newton-meters. Ari prints 350 watts of power and 1.9 kilograms. BikeRumor prints 1.92 kilograms and calls the 350 a peak. One point nine times 2.2 is 4.18 pounds. One point nine two times 2.2 is 4.22, which they rounded to 4.2. The pack is 360 watt-hours. The optional bottle is 160. Three hundred sixty plus 160 is 520, and only if the bottle is fitted and the two packs stack. Ari says Class 3, assist to 28 mph. No throttle is printed. Sport is $4,899. Published pages, not a ride.

350 watts, and whose peak

Ari writes “350 W of power.” BikeRumor writes “350 W of peak power.” The torque line is the same 60 newton-meters on both. Three assist levels on Ari’s page are Eco, Mid, and High. BikeRumor says the levels are changed from controllers on the hoods, and that the display is in the top tube. Neither page prints a nominal watt next to the 350. A Class 3 sticker, which is Ari’s sentence, is an assist limit of 28 mph. It is not a promise that 350 is the continuous draw. The class page is that distinction. No throttle is printed. This page will not add one.

360, plus 160 if you buy it

The pack in the downtube is 360 watt-hours. The range extender is 160 watt-hours, bottle-sized, and optional. Three hundred sixty plus 160 is 520, and only if the extender is on the bike and the page’s “can be added” means it stacks. Ari did not print a price for the bottle. BikeRumor did not either. A range claim in miles is not on either page. Do not turn 360 watt-hours into a distance.

The old page is still a different bike

Ari’s e-gravel pre-order page was still online. It calls the motor a TQ HPR-60 SL, prints “60 mm” of tire clearance, and lists the Team build as a $10,499 target that “may change.” The live Shafer HP page says HPR 60, 700 by 58 millimeters, and Team at $9,899. Ten thousand four hundred ninety-nine minus 9,899 is $600. Fifty-eight millimeters is not 60. “SL” is not on the live motor line. The pre-order page also showed a yen figure that is a storefront error, not a price. Shop the Shafer HP URL. The other URL is a leftover.

The Shafer without a motor

The acoustic Shafer page is a different cart. Its spec table lists the Sport at $2,549 and the frameset at $1,999. A FAQ sentence on that same page also says complete bikes start at $1,999. Those two sentences do not match, and neither of them is the HP. Four thousand eight hundred ninety-nine minus 2,549 is $2,350, which is the gap between the two Sport rows if you trust the spec tables and not the FAQ. The HP frameset at $4,199 includes the motor and the pack. The acoustic frameset does not. Subtracting those two frame prices is how you invent a motor cost.

Twenty-eight pounds is BikeRumor’s “average around.” Ari’s page did not print a bike weight.

Use 28 pounds as their sentence, not as a scale ticket. The motor-weight pair to keep is 1.9 kilograms on Ari’s page and 1.92 on BikeRumor’s. The warranty line on Ari’s FAQ is a lifetime frame warranty that transfers once. The second owner gets one year from the date they buy it from the first. That is the frame, not the motor and not the pack. This desk did not find a dated public film of a Shafer HP. A TQ promo is not this bike.
