Moustache Lundi 27 Review: €2,399, Bosch Hub
Velomotion and Cleanrider, both 15 September 2026. First Moustache city bike on Bosch’s Hub Line: 45 Nm, 400 W max. Belt 23.5 kg, Cues 24.1 kg. The 65 Nm line is a feeling, not a measurement.

The short answer
The Lundi 27 tests of 15 September 2026 are a step-through on a Bosch hub, not a mid-drive. Both print €2,399. The hub is 45 Nm and 400 watts max. The belt bike is 23.5 kg. The 9-speed is 24.1 kg. Cleanrider says the pack went from 500 Wh to 360 Wh, with a 70 km Eco claim. The 65 Nm line is a feeling. No U.S. price.
The 2026 Moustache Lundi 27, in the tests dated 15 September 2026, is a step-through city bike with a Bosch Hub Line motor in the rear wheel, not a mid-drive. Velomotion and Cleanrider both put the bike at €2,399. The motor, in Velomotion’s spec block, is 45 Nm and 400 watts maximum, 2.4 kg, about 10 cm across. The belt version weighs 23.5 kg. The Shimano Cues 9-speed weighs 24.1 kg. Both are €2,399. This desk has not ridden it, and it has not found a U.S. price. The 65 Nm comparison Bosch and Moustache use is a sentence about feel. It is not 65 Nm.
Two European tests, one week. Weights are as printed. A U.S. cart was not part of either piece.

The motor they actually bolted on
Velomotion’s point is the historical one. This is the first Lundi 27 without a mid-drive, and it is on Bosch’s first hub motor, inside the Smart System. That matters for a shop: diagnostics stay in the Bosch tent. The numbers they print are 45 Nm and 400 watts maximum, not a 250-watt nominal line and not a class sticker. European assist rules are a different cap from the U.S. three-class chart. Do not stamp this bike Class 1 because the brand is French. The class page is the U.S. hangtag. This price is a euro price.
Bosch, via Velomotion, puts 45 Nm at the hub next to 65 Nm of a mid-drive and calls them a similar sensation, because the hub pushes the wheel directly and a mid-drive goes through the gears. Cleanrider says the old bike was 75 Nm and that Moustache makes the 65 Nm comparison. Those are two different mid-drive numbers. 65 is not 75. Neither one is a measurement of this hub. The torque guide is that distinction. Twenty-three and a half kilograms times 2.2 is 51.7 pounds. Twenty-four point one times 2.2 is 53.0. The tests printed kilograms. The pounds are this desk’s multiplication, not a second scale.
The pack got smaller
Cleanrider is the story that prints the battery. The PowerTube 500 Wh gives way to a PowerTube 360 Wh, with a fast charger claimed to fill it in under two hours. The range sentence they are watching is 70 km in Eco. Seventy kilometers times 0.621 is about 43.5 miles. Three hundred sixty watt-hours divided by 43.5 miles is about 8.3 watt-hours a mile, if that Eco claim happens. It is a brochure rate. It is not a loop this desk rode, and Velomotion’s piece as read here did not repeat the 70 km line. A 360 Wh pack is 140 Wh smaller than the 500 it replaces. That is the tank. The motor did not get a bigger tank because the bike got lighter.
Forty-five newton-meters at the hub is the number on the motor. Sixty-five is a metaphor.
Who it is for
Velomotion says Moustache aimed the price at a first e-bike. €2,399 is the bottom of that urban line in their telling. The Mardi 27 family starts at €3,399. A Lundi 20 cargo starts at €3,799. The top of the range is near €6,000. The belt bike is the flat-city one, and they call it nearly maintenance-free. The 9-speed is the hill one. The Launch Edition is a different object: 270 bikes, €2,899, chromatic blue, a 10-speed Cues, and a Bosch ConnectModule in the kit. That module is the tracker that needs Flow+. It is not included in the €2,399 sentence.

Buy the conversation if you are shopping in euros, you want a Bosch hub instead of a Bosch mid, and you have read 360 Wh instead of 500. Skip it if you needed a U.S. shop, a class label, or a measured American loop. Skip the 65 Nm line as a spec. It is an analogy. The old 75 Nm mid-drive is a third bike.
Questions people ask
How much is the Moustache Lundi 27?+
€2,399 in both the Velomotion and Cleanrider tests dated 15 September 2026, for the belt bike and the 9-speed. The Launch Edition is €2,899 and limited to 270 bikes. This desk did not find a U.S. sticker.
Is the Lundi 27 a mid-drive?+
No. Both reviews say this is the first Lundi 27 on a hub motor, Bosch’s Hub Line, 45 Nm and 400 watts maximum. The 65 Nm figure is a feel comparison with a mid-drive. It is not the motor’s torque.
What battery is on the new Lundi 27?+
Cleanrider says a Bosch PowerTube 360 Wh replaced a 500 Wh pack. The Eco claim they flag is 70 km. Velomotion’s paragraphs this desk used did not repeat that watt-hour. Do not treat 70 km as a U.S. loop.
Does the €2,399 bike include GPS tracking?+
The ConnectModule shows up in Velomotion’s Launch Edition kit at €2,899, not in the €2,399 sentence. That module needs Bosch Flow+. A hub motor is not a tracker.

Hub Motor Torque: Why 45 Nm Is Not 65
Newton-meters at a hub are measured at the axle. Newton-meters at a mid-drive are measured at the crank, then multiplied by the gear. Bosch’s 45-equals-65 line is a feel claim.

Hub ignores the gears. Mid-drive uses them. Hills, cargo, range-per-Wh, chain bills, and the $1,500 line where the answer actually changes.
