Aventon Aventure 3: Price, Motor, and the ACU

Aventon unveiled the Aventure 3 in 2025 (availability from April 2025). It remains the current fat-tire Aventure in 2026 at $1,999. It is a 26×4-inch all-terrain bike with a gravity-cast 6061 aluminum frame, high-step and step-through, Regular (about 5'3"–5'10") and Large (about 5'10"–6'4").

Motor: 36V 750W rear hub, 1,188W peak, 80 Nm, double-sided bottom-bracket torque sensor. Battery: 36V 20Ah (733Wh) LG 21700 cells, keyless removable, claimed range up to 65 miles. Outdoor Gear Lab’s instrumented test recorded 28.3 miles with 1,300 feet of climbing — a useful real-world floor, not the Eco headline. Charge time is about five hours on the included 4A charger. Weight is about 76–78 lb. Payload is 400 lb. Tires are Innova 26×4. Brakes are Tektro hydraulic discs, 180 mm rotors. Fork travel is 80 mm. UL 2271 and UL 2849 certified. IPX5 water resistance.

It ships as Class 2 (throttle and pedal assist to 20 mph). Aventon’s app can unlock Class 3 pedal assist to 28 mph where legal; the throttle can be unplugged for Class 1-only paths. A Boost mode adds a short 30-second torque bump. The actual generational jump versus the Aventure.2 is the Aventon Control Unit: 4G + GPS tracking, geofencing, motion alerts, remote motor disable, and an electronic rear-wheel lock.

Aventon lists 1,800+ authorized U.S. dealer locations for service. That matters more than a color display. A 78 lb fat bike with hydraulic brakes still needs a shop that will bleed them.
