The GoTrax GXL V2 is the light folding scooter on this budget row. The US product page showed a $299 sale against a $350 regular price, fifteen and a half miles an hour, 12.5 miles, and a front motor labeled 250 watts average. Rider Guide’s Sept. 25, 2026 card weighs it at 27 pounds and labels 187.2 watt-hours. Canada’s distance is 19 kilometers, not the 12.5-mile tile.
The GoTrax GXL V2 is a folding budget kick scooter, not a Class 1, 2, or 3 e-bike. The US product page, titled GXL V2 Lightweight Scooter, showed a sale price of $299 against a $350 regular price. A green color on that same URL printed $349 and sold out. The tiles say up to 12.5 miles, 15.5 mph, a 250-watt average motor, 8.5-inch tires, a folding frame, a 220-pound payload, a one-year warranty, and certification in accordance with UL 2272. The feature copy says the motor is in the front wheel, that you kick to start, and that the tires are pneumatic. The tiles do not print a weight or a watt-hour figure. Rider Guide’s card, updated Sept. 25, 2026, prints 27 pounds, 187.2 watt-hours, 36 volts and 5.2 amp-hours, IP54, a mechanical disc, no suspension, and an MSRP of $227 with the price checked that day. Thirty-six times 5.2 is 187.2. Canada’s GoTrax page prints $399.99 from $429.99, 25 km/h, 19 km, 26.85 pounds, and the same 187.2 watt-hours. Nineteen kilometers is about 11.8 miles, not 12.5. Twelve and a half miles and 19 kilometers are not a translation of each other. GoTrax printed both. The $227 figure is a database price-check, not the $299 button. Twenty-seven pounds, 26.85, and 26.4 are three scales from three years of pages. Fourteen degrees and eight degrees are two incline claims. IP54 shows up on the review cards and on Canada. It does not show up on the US tiles this crawl, which stop at UL 2272.
A 15.5 mph kick scooter with a tiller you kick to start is not Class 2. UL 2272 is the fire standard. It does not pick a weight the product tiles refused to print.
Who it is for
Buy it if the job is a short, flat hop and $299 is the US number you actually saw, not the $227 card and not the Canadian $399.99. Skip it if you needed a named watt-hour test with your own weight. The GoTrax G4 is the next folder up on this list, Original at $439, with a motor tile that says 500 watts average and a 2020 post that said 350. The GoTrax Apex is the rear-drive cart at $320, still 15.5 mph, with a 15.5-mile tile. The KQi2 Pro is the small NIU at $479, sold out, 17.4 mph, and a pack the US card does print.
It fails the class chart. No pedals. One hundred eighty-seven point two watt-hours divided by 12.5 miles is about 15 watt-hours a mile, on the US claim. Canada’s 19 km is a shorter promise from the same 187.2. The watt-hour page is the arithmetic. Confirm the color is actually in stock before you treat $299 as the only tag on that URL.

Why does a price-check database say $227?+
Rider Guide’s Sept. 25, 2026 price check lists an MSRP of $227. That figure is a database lookup, not the button on the shop URL. The green color on that same URL printed $349 and was sold out. Electric Scooter Insider’s 2021 review showed $329 against $350. Canada’s shop asks $399.99 against $429.99. Quote the button in front of you, and date it, because a sold-out color is a different tag on the same path.
Why are twelve and a half miles and 19 kilometers both in print?+
The US tiles say up to 12.5 miles and do not name a rider weight. The Canadian page says 19 kilometers, about 11.8 miles, from the same 187.2 watt-hour label. Insider’s 2021 review printed a 12-mile claim and guessed about 10, or about 7 at a 220-pound load. Those are separate sentences. Do not blend them into one radius or one commute.
What incline, brake, and ingress rating belong on the shop tiles?+
The shop tiles this crawl stop at UL 2272, 8.5-inch pneumatic tires, a folding frame, and a 220-pound payload. They do not print IP54. The review card adds a mechanical disc, no suspension, a 14-degree incline, IP54, and regen. Insider’s 2021 review printed an 8-degree incline. Canada adds a front electromagnetic brake plus a rear disc and two speeds.
Does a fire listing make this folder a bicycle?+
No. There are no pedals, and the copy says you kick the tiller to start. UL 2272 is the fire listing. It does not invent a weight the shop tiles left blank. Fifteen and a half miles an hour sits under a 20 mph bicycle cap, and 250 watts sits under 750, and the federal test still wants pedals. Confirm the color is actually in stock before treating one tag as the only price on that URL.

What Is a Class 1, 2, and 3 E-Bike?
Class 1 is pedal-assist to 20. Class 2 adds a throttle to 20. Class 3 is pedal-assist to 28. A Tuttio is none of these. The sticker is not the trail.
