NIU XQi3: Everything You Need to Know

The US hero prints 57 mph and 11.2 kW. The shop card also prints 51 mph and 46.6 mph. Both columns are 72V 32Ah, which is 2,304Wh. Street mode is 30 mph. Not a Class 1–3 bicycle.

The short answer

The NIU XQi3 is a Street column and a Wild column, not a Class 1–3 e-bike. The US hero prints 57 mph, 55 miles, and 11.2 kW. The spec table prints Street at 30 mph with 8000W, Wild at 57 mph with 11200W. A shop grid prints Wild at 46.6 mph with 10800W. All are 72V 32Ah. 72 times 32 gives 2304 watt-hours. The shop sale is $3,999 from $4,999.

The NIU XQi3 is a Street column and a Wild column, and neither is a Class 1–3 e-bike. NIU’s US hero prints 57 mph, 55 miles, 11.2 kW, and the words DOT street legal. The spec table on that page prints Street at 30 mph and 8000W, and Wild at 57 mph and 11200W. The shop prints $3,999, down from $4,999, pickup at a store, and a feature line of 30 mph on-road and 51 mph off-road. A comparison grid on that shop also prints Wild at 46.6 mph and 10800W. The pack on every one of those blocks is 72V 32Ah. The product of 72 and 32 is 2,304 watt-hours, and the shop prints 2304Wh. The row links here.

57 mph and 51, on pages that share a pack

global.niu.com/en-us, shop.niu.com, Forbes (Bill Roberson, 6 March 2025), a 2024 RiderGuide first-impression table, and NIU’s Poland spec. Not averaged.

What is printed
PriceUS shop: $3,999, with $4,999 struck through, and a line that it can only be picked up at a NIU store. Forbes, March 2025: both versions $4,999. Poland’s 2026 row: 16,990 PLN. The list’s $3,999 matches the current US shop, not the 2025 magazine price.
SpeedHero and the spec table: Street 30 mph, Wild 57 mph. Shop feature line: 30 mph on-road, 51 mph off-road. Shop comparison grid: Wild 46.6 mph. Forbes: Wild “50-plus,” and a ride at an indicated 50. A 2024 first-impression table: Wild 47 mph. Poland: 45 km/h street and 75 km/h wild. Forty-five kilometers an hour is 28 mph. Seventy-five is the same 46.6 the shop grid printed. Do not average 57 and that lower figure.
MotorSpec table: 8000W street, 11200W wild. Hero: 11.2 kW, which is 11200W. Shop grid: 8000W and 10800W, rated 3500W both, and a 30-minute continuous line of 8000W street and 10800W wild. Poland’s 30-minute line is 3500W, and its max-power cell is 8000W. Forbes: 8000W street, 10800W off-road, 263 lb-ft. The 2024 table printed a 6000W peak and an 8000W boost. That table is not this year’s sheet.
Battery72V 32Ah, 21700 cells, LG named on the marketing block and in Forbes. 72 times 32 is 2,304. Shop energy cell: 2304Wh. Charge: 5.3 hours and 6A on the current US pages. The 2024 table said 5 hours. Range: hero 55 miles; shop street 40.4 to 46.6 miles and wild 40.4 to 55; Poland 90 km, which is 55.9 miles; Forbes 90 km / 56 miles. Sweden’s page prints 80–90 km.
Weight and brakesSpec table: 76 kg. The shop prints 167.6 lb. Seventy-six kilograms is about 167.5 lb. Forbes says about 168. The 2024 table said 156.5 lb. A later card said 160 lb. Front disc 220 mm and rear 203 mm in the marketing block. The shop prints 8.7 in and 8 in, which are 221 mm and 203 mm. The spec table’s brake cell says 220 mm and does not repeat 203.
Wheels and paperTires on the US pages: 70/100-19 front and rear, called DOT on the shop. Poland’s rear tire is 70/100-R20. A card that says rear hub is not the spec table, which does not name hub or mid. Forbes says chain drive, a VIN, and moped status for the Street version. A VIN is not a bicycle class.

Two thousand three hundred four is the number the pages agree on. Speed is the number they do not. Eleven point two kilowatts and 10,800 watts are not a rounding you can hide: 400 watts is the gap, and Poland’s max cell does not print the higher figure at all. Thirty miles an hour in Street mode is already over a Class 3 pedal-assist cap. Fifty-seven in Wild is a dirt-bike number. Firmware that switches them, which is Forbes’s account, means the fast one and the slow one can be the same hardware. It does not mean they are the same legal object.

The pack math is 2,304 watt-hours. The hero speed is 57 mph. A shop grid prints a lower wild figure. Pick the cell.

Who it is for

It is the NIU dirt bike the list filed as street-capable, at a shop price of $3,999 if the store will hand it over. Street mode at 30 mph is the commuter claim. Wild is the off-road claim, and that claim is 51, the lower grid figure, or 57 depending on which block you read. Buy the VIN paperwork for the state you ride in. Do not buy the hero speed and assume the pickup bike is unlocked to it.

A 30 mph street mode fails the three-class bicycle test. Class 3, where a state uses it, is pedal assist to 28. This has a motorcycle chassis. The watt-hour page is why 2,304 is the check and a 55-mile sentence still needs the speed of the loop. A Juiced Nomadix is the cheaper pre-order dirt bike, with no DOT line and a 60 or 70 mph claim. A Segway X160 is the smaller 31.1 mph manual. Different paper, different speed, same problem if you put it in a bike lane.

Questions people ask

Is a 30 mph street mode Class 3?+

No. Class 3, where a state uses it, is pedal assist to 28. This chassis has no bicycle pedals. A VIN and a moped note are not that test.

Why do the speed cells disagree?+

The hero and the spec table print one wild figure. A shop feature line prints 51 mph off-road. A comparison grid prints a lower wild figure, the same 46.6 you get from 75 km/h. Quote the cell. Do not average them.

Which figure is the pack, not the motor?+

The pack is 72 volts and 32 amp-hours. The product is 2304 watt-hours, and the energy cell prints 2304Wh. Sweden’s range line is 80 to 90 km, not a second pack.

What did pickup pricing show?+

The US shop showed $3,999 with $4,999 struck through, and store pickup only. A March 2025 magazine priced both versions at $4,999. Poland’s 2026 row is 16,990 PLN. The cart you can pay is the price.
