Segway GT2: Everything You Need to Know
The Segway GT2 is a 43.5 mph kickscooter with a 1,512Wh pack and a 52.6 kg spec weight. It is not a Class 1–3 e-bike. Segway’s page says racetrack or private property.

The Segway GT2 is a large kickscooter, not a Class 1–3 e-bike. Spec tables that agree say 70 km/h (43.5 mph), a 1,512 watt-hour pack, 3,000 watts times two at maximum, and 52.6 kg. Segway’s page limits it to a racetrack or private property. Segway Los Angeles listed $3,999.99, sold out, and a 37-mile typical range next to a 56-mile max. Brake lines do not agree.
The Segway GT2, which Segway’s own pages also call the GT2P, is a large electric kickscooter, not a Class 1, 2, or 3 e-bike. The spec tables that agree say 70 km/h, a 1,512 watt-hour pack, 1,500 watts times two as output, 3,000 watts times two as maximum, and a net weight of 52.6 kg. The English page prints 43.5 mph next to 70 km/h, and 116 pounds next to 52.6 kg. The same family of pages says the scooter can only be used on racetracks or private property. What the spec tables share, and the brake line
Segway’s GT2P spec tables (English, and the Portuguese, Italian, and German pages), Segway Los Angeles, and a Canadian dealer page. Fifty-two point six kilograms is about 116 pounds. Thirty amp-hours into 1,512 watt-hours is 50.4 volts.

Fifty-five point nine miles and 56 miles are the same 90 kilometres, rounded. Forty-three point five miles on the EU shop is not. Ninety kilometres is 55.9 miles. Do not file 43.5 as a second range. Thirty-seven miles is Segway Los Angeles calling a typical ride, not a max. Rider Guide’s review, published May 25, 2022, and still stamped updated on September 23, 2026, measured 41.8 mph against the 43.5 claim, and 32.9 miles in Race mode with Boost held on, against an advertised 55.9. That review still prints $2,499. A 2022 test is not a 2026 loop. It is also not a reason to average 32.9 and 56 into 44.
Segway’s sentence is racetrack or private property. A headlight and a turn signal do not turn that into Class 3.
Who it is for
Buy it if you want the big Segway, you can ride where a 43 mph kickscooter is actually allowed, and you can lift 52.6 kg or you never will. Skip it if the job is a train commute. The KQi3 Pro is the 45-pound commuter. This one is the 116-pound machine. The Apollo Phantom is the other fast scooter on this list, and that name covers more than one generation. Six thousand watts peak is 3,000 times two. Three thousand watts of output is 1,500 times two. Peak is not the legal watt, and there is no legal watt here anyway. The class chart stops at a bicycle.
The price depends on which door you open. Segway Los Angeles showed $3,999.99 for a new GT2, sold out, and a refurbished at $2,299.99 from $2,999.99, also sold out. Segway’s EU shop showed €1,999 from €2,999, in stock. A Canadian dealer showed C$5,499, and on that same page the grade line says both 18 degrees (32 percent) and 30 percent (18 degrees). Those parentheticals are swapped. Eighteen degrees is about a 32 percent grade. The official tables this desk read say 30 percent, not a degree. One thousand five hundred twelve watt-hours is the pack. The watt-hour page is the multiplication. Divided by 56 miles it is about 27 watt-hours a mile. Divided by the 32.9-mile Boost loop it is about 46. Those are claims and one old test, not a new scale.
