A spec sheet prints 11 kW, 280 Nm at the wheel, 51.8 volts and 50 amp-hours labeled 2.6 kWh, and 52 kg plus a 17 kg pack. A 2019 ride printed $13,000. The lineup card is sold out, price Fr. 0, and mixes 10 kW with 11. Bankruptcy was February 1, 2024.
The CAKE Kalk OR is an off-road motorcycle, not a Class 1, 2, or 3 e-bike, and not the plated Kalk&. A spec sheet prints an 11 kW motor, 42 Nm at the shaft, 280 Nm at the wheel, a 12-tooth front and an 80-tooth rear, and a removable pack labeled 51.8 volts, 50 amp-hours, and 2.6 kWh. Fifty point eight times 50 is 2,590 watt-hours. The sheet rounds that to 2.6. Dry mass on that sheet is 52 kg, plus 17 kg for the pack. Top speed is printed as +90 km/h. Öhlins air forks and an Öhlins TTX22 are on the OR sheet. A 2019 first ride printed $13,000. The US lineup card, in this crawl, was sold out, estimated shipping for fall 2024, and priced “Fr. 0 USD.” Cake 0 Emission AB filed for bankruptcy on February 1, 2024. NHTSA recall 23V-904, dated January 23, 2024, names model years 2018–2023 of the Kalk&, the Kalk Ink&, and the Kalk :work. The defect is cells that can fail while charging outside the instructions, with smoke or fire. The letter does not name the OR. A February 20, 2024 report said a Florida dealer bought remaining US Makka and Ösa stock and did not buy remaining Kalk motorcycles, citing battery-fire and steering-column recalls. Quote the letter for the models it names. Do not add the OR to it.
Eleven kilowatts and no pedals is not a bicycle. A sold-out page priced at zero francs is not a $13,500 tag. The 2019 ride’s $13,000 is a 2019 ride.
Not the street bike
The Kalk& is the one with lights, signals, and an M1 line on the dealer sheet, at 10 kW rather than 11. The OR is the one the sheet leaves off-road, with the Öhlins pair and the 52 kg chassis. A Light Bee is a different weight class. Neither Kalk is on the class chart. The watt-hour page is why 2,590 is the check and 2.6 kWh is the rounded label. Three hours of trail use on 2,590 watt-hours is a time claim, not a mileage, and not a loop this desk rode.
Who it is for
Buy one only if the cart is a specific OR, the pack’s cell chemistry is the one you meant to own, and you have read 23V-904 far enough to see that the letter’s named models are the plated bikes and the :work. The 11 kW line, the 280 Nm line, and the 52 kg plus 17 kg split agree on the OR sheet. The charge time does not. The price does not, because there is no current one.
Skip it if you needed a plate, a warranty from the original company, or a bike you can order today. The sold-out card’s fall 2024 shipping line is still the line. Do not pay a 2019 tag and expect a 2026 build, and do not treat 10 kW and 11 kW as one motor.

Is this the street-legal sibling?+
No. The plated card is 10 kilowatts and 252 Nm on a US dealer sheet, $14,300 at one shop. This sheet is the off-road one, with Öhlins and 280 Nm. The family listing prints both peaks and both torque figures because it is selling more than one model.
What does the 2.6 kWh label mean?+
Fifty point eight times 50 is 2,590 watt-hours. The sheet rounds that to 2.6. Charge lines disagree: the sheet says 2 hours to 80 percent and 3 to full. A 2019 ride was told 1.5 and 2.5. Do not average them.
Was this model named in the battery recall?+
NHTSA 23V-904, dated January 23, 2024, names the plated bike, the Ink&, and the :work. It does not name the OR. A February 20, 2024 report said a US dealer skipped remaining Kalk motorcycles over battery-fire and steering recalls. That listing is still sold out.
Is the original company still building it?+
Cake 0 Emission AB filed on February 1, 2024. A June 2024 post says Brages Holding AS bought the brand in March and that already-built bikes were for sale. The US lineup card still estimates shipping in fall 2024 and prints a price of zero francs.
