Talaria Sting MX3: Everything You Need to Know

The TL3000 sheet prints 6 kW peak, 3 kW nominal, 60V 38.4Ah, and 63 kg. A shop still asks $3,099. Another calls the MX3 discontinued at $3,795. 60×38.4 is 2,304Wh. A 2,280Wh line used 38Ah.

The short answer

The Talaria Sting MX3 is factory code TL3000, the 60-volt Sting the Sting R replaced. The document prints 3000 watts nominal, 6000 watts peak, and 60 volts at 38.4 amp-hours. It does not print watt-hours. Sixty times 38.4 is 2304. A Canada line says 38 amp-hours and 2280 watt-hours. A shop still lists $3099. A spec site says discontinued after 2024 at $3795.

The Talaria Sting MX3 is the factory’s TL3000, the 60-volt Sting that the Sting R replaced in the current lineup. The spec sheet prints 3,000 watts nominal, 6,000 watts peak, a 60-volt 38.4-amp-hour pack, and 63 kilograms with that pack aboard. It does not print watt-hours. Sixty times 38.4 is 2,304. A Canada sentence says 38 amp-hours and 2,280 watt-hours, which is sixty times 38, not times 38.4. A US shop still lists the bike from $3,099. A spec site calls it discontinued after 2024 at a last retail of $3,795. Do not average the prices or the watt-hours. The row on this desk’s list links here.

The factory sheet says 19-inch wheels front and rear. One reseller prints 19 and 17. Not a product photo.

The sheet, the dealer, and the blog that borrowed the MX4’s nominal

TL3000 factory sheet, Talaria Canada, a reseller still taking orders, and two 2025–2026 explainers. The [Sting R MX4](/articles/talaria-sting-r-mx4) is the 8 kW bike. This is not that motor.

What is printed
MotorSheet: PMSM, mid-mount, air-cooled, 3,000W nominal, 6,000W peak, 34 Nm at the motor. Rear-wheel torque 284 Nm on a 44-tooth sprocket and 309 Nm on a 48-tooth. First reduction is a gearbox. Second is a chain. A May 2026 comparison gives the MX3 a 4,000W nominal, which is the MX4’s nominal on that same table. Do not import it.
PackSheet: 60V / 38.4Ah, LG 21700 cells listed at 5,000 mAh each, pack weight 12.8 kg. No watt-hour line. Reseller: 2,304Wh, which matches 60 × 38.4. Canada’s battery paragraph: “60V, 38Ah” and “2,280 watt-hours.” Pit Bike’s table prints that amp-hour figure and 2,280Wh in one row. That row fails its own multiplication.
SpeedSheet: at least 70 km/h with the 44-tooth sprocket, which is about 43 mph, and range at least 70 km at 40 km/h. Reseller: 47+ mph, electronically limited. GritShift: 36 mph as shipped and 50 mph with the limiter removed. eMoto Bykes: 43 mph. RiderGuide’s September 2026 lineup note groups this model with bikes that ship limited to 20 mph. Five figures. Not a midpoint.
Mass and seatSheet: 63 kg with the pack, seat 870 mm. Canada’s comparison table: 63 kg (139 lb) and a seat of 840 mm, while Canada’s own spec block says 870 mm (34.2 in). Reseller: about 56 kg without the pack and 68.5 kg total, written 151 lb, seat about 860 mm. A blog: about 58 kg. eMoto: 139 lb and a 34.3 in seat.
WheelsSheet and Canada: 19 in front and rear, tires 70/100-19 and 80/100-19. Reseller: 19 in front and 17 in rear. Brakes on the sheet’s relatives: 4-piston hydraulics and 203 mm discs, which Canada and the reseller agree on. The sheet’s rotor diameter is not in the extract this desk used. Do not invent one.
PriceReseller: $3,099 to $3,199, still a cart. eMoto Bykes: discontinued after the 2024 model year, last US retail $3,795. GritShift, January 2025: $3,800. Canada’s July 2024 table: $4,999 CAD. The list’s “used market” is true of the bikes that left the showroom. It is not true of every page still showing an add-to-cart button.

There is no pedal line on the TL3000 sheet. Six kilowatts is not under 750 watts, and a 20 mph shipping note from a 2026 roundup would not create a bicycle even if that governor is the one on a used bike. The class chart is the federal test: pedals, motor under 750 watts, motor-only under 20 mph. This sheet misses the first two. The MX4 keeps a gearbox and moves to an IPM motor, a 45-amp-hour pack, and a higher peak. Buying a used MX3 because a forum said “belt drive” disagrees with this sheet, which says gearbox, then chain.

2,304 watt-hours is sixty times the sheet’s amp-hour figure. 2,280 is sixty times 38. The sheet printed 38.4 and left the watt-hours blank.

Who it is for

Buy a used one if you want the 6-kilowatt PMSM Sting and the seller’s photos show 19-inch wheels at both ends, a 44-tooth or 48-tooth sprocket you can see, and a pack that says 38.4 amp-hours. The watt-hour page is why a 2,280 label on that pack is the wrong product of those two numbers. Canada’s 139-pound line matches 63 kilograms. A 151-pound curb weight is a different scale.

Skip it if the ad says 8 kilowatts, 45 amp-hours, or IPM. That is the Sting R. Skip a new-bike price that does not say whether the limiter is on: 36, 43, 47, and 20 are all in print, and a removed limiter at 50 is a modification story, not the sheet. The list’s “last-gen trail” job is right. The single price is not.

Questions people ask

Is a 4000-watt nominal on a comparison this bike?+

No. The TL3000 document says 3000 watts nominal and 6000 peak, PMSM, mid-mount, 34 Nm at the motor. Wheel torque is 284 Nm on a 44-tooth sprocket and 309 Nm on a 48-tooth. A May 2026 table gives this model a 4000-watt nominal, which is the other Sting’s figure on that page. Gearbox first, chain second. A forum “belt” is not this document.

Which watt-hour number is the multiplication?+

2304 is sixty times 38.4, and a reseller prints 2304. Canada’s paragraph says 38 amp-hours and 2280 watt-hours, which is sixty times 38. A blog puts the sheet’s amp-hour figure and 2280 in one row. That row fails. Cells are listed as LG 21700 at 5000 mAh, the pack at 12.8 kg, and watt-hours are left blank.

How fast is it if five numbers exist?+

The document says at least 70 km/h with the 44-tooth sprocket, about 43 mph, and at least 70 km at 40 km/h. A reseller prints 47 mph and up. GritShift prints 36 mph as shipped and 50 with a limiter removed. Another site prints 43. RiderGuide’s September 2026 lineup note groups it with bikes that ship limited to 20. Quote the page you are paying.

Is it discontinued, and what does it weigh?+

One site says discontinued after 2024, last US retail $3795, 139 pounds. A reseller cart still shows $3099 to $3199 and a 151-pound total. The document is 63 kg with the pack, seat 870 mm, 19-inch wheels both ends. Canada’s comparison seat is 840 mm while its spec block says 870. One reseller prints 19 front and 17 rear. The 8 kW IPM bike is the Sting R, not this one.
