Rider Guide, prices checked at Unagi on August 17, 2026, prints refurbished units at $399, a $990 list, dual 800 watts, 20 mph, 12 claimed miles, 26.5 pounds, and 3.5 hours to 80 percent. A test sheet prints dual 250-watt motors, 28.6 pounds, an 8.5-mile loop, and a 16 mph lock that opens to 20.
The Unagi Model One Classic is a folding kick scooter, not a Class 1, 2, or 3 e-bike, and not the Model One Voyager. Rider Guide’s August 17, 2026 guide says prices were checked at Unagi that day: refurbished Classics are $399, the old list was $990, the motors are dual and 800 watts, the claimed top is 20 mph, the claimed range is 12 miles, the weight is 26.5 pounds, and a charge to 80 percent is 3.5 hours. The same desk’s older E500 test sheet, still updated in 2026, prints dual 250-watt motors, a tested top of 20.0 mph, a 16 mph electronic limit you can unlock, a tested loop of 8.5 miles, a scale weight of 28.6 pounds, a 220-pound rider limit, and IPX4. Freshly Charged prints dual 250-watt motors, a 1,000-watt peak, 26.5 pounds, a 275-pound limit, a minimum range of 8 miles, and IP54. There are no pedals. Twenty miles an hour is not Class 3, and the federal bicycle line still requires pedals even when the motor sits under 750 watts. If the true continuous figure is 500 watts, it is under that line and still not a bicycle. If the 800-watt label is the one Unagi is using in 2026, it is over the line. Quote the card in front of you.
Eight hundred watts is the August 17 shop check. Dual 250 watts is the test sheet. One thousand watts is a peak on a third card. The scooter did not get heavier and lighter on the same afternoon.
Who it is for
Buy the refurb if the tag is $399, you can live with a 12-mile claim that a loop cut to 8.5, and you wanted a scooter light enough to carry. Skip it if you needed the Voyager’s longer claim. That one is a rental, from $55.30 to $79 a month on the same August guide, and its filed Sport cap is 15.5 mph. Both fail the class chart. The watt-hour page cannot check a pack this page never printed in amp-hours.

Is the motor 800 watts or dual 250?+
The August 17, 2026 card prints dual 800W. Freshly Charged prints dual 250W motors and a 1,000-watt peak. Two hundred fifty plus two hundred fifty is 500, not 800. Do not average them.
Which scale should you trust?+
That 2026 card prints 26.5 pounds. The tested E500 sheet prints 28.6. This list printed 28.5. Three figures. The dated shop check is the one to quote for a new order.
How far does a charge go?+
The claim on that card is 12 miles. The test loop was 8.5. Freshly Charged prints a minimum of 8. CNET printed 7 to 12. Charge to 80 percent is 3.5 hours on the 2026 card. CNET’s full-charge line was about 5.
Is it a bicycle, and what does it cost?+
No pedals. Twenty miles an hour is not Class 3 by itself, and the federal bicycle line still wants pedals. The live price on that card is $399 refurbished. The old list was $990. A review header still shows a $59 monthly plan.
