Yeestep M712: 720 Watt-Hours, and the Peak Is Either 750 or 970
Yeestep’s M712 is a 27.5-inch hardtail sold as a men’s mountain and city bike. The shared spec sheet says 48 volts, 15 amp-hours, a 500-watt rated rear hub, and a 54.6-volt 3-amp charger. Forty-eight times 15 is 720 watt-hours. One card peaks the motor at 750 watts. Another peaks it at 970. The charger math is 4.4 hours. The sheet prints 5 to 5.5.

The short answer
The Yeestep M712 is a 27.5-inch factory hardtail, not a shop bike and not the Mauser pistol. The shared sheet says 48 volts and 15 amp-hours. Forty-eight times 15 is 720 watt-hours. One card peaks the hub at 750 watts. Another peaks it at 970. The charger is 54.6 volts at 3 amps, a 4.4-hour ideal, while the sheet prints 5 to 5.5 hours. This desk did not ride it.
The Yeestep M712 is a factory model number, not a shop you can walk into. The cards this desk opened on 24 October 2026 all say Guangdong, a 27.5-inch wheel, a rear hub, and 48 volts times 15 amp-hours. Forty-eight times 15 is 720 watt-hours. One card, titled as a 750-watt men’s mountain bike, prices the bike at $361 to $421 with a minimum of one piece, and peaks the motor at 750 watts. Another card, titled as a 970-watt commuter, prices it at $397 to $474 with a minimum of ten, and peaks it at 970 watts. A third, sold under Yeestep, Sisigad, TST, or an OEM name, prices it at $359 to $391 with a minimum of 89 and is the only attribute row that prints 720 watt-hours. Those are wholesale quotes. They are not a US checkout. This is a reading of the cards. It is not a SickEBike ride. It is also not the Mauser M712. That is a pistol.

Three cards, one model number
All three are Yeestep M712 listings opened 24 October 2026. The left card is the Portuguese 750-watt listing. The middle is the 970-watt listing. The right is the Dutch multi-brand listing. The spec sheet under the first two is the same shape. Do not average the peaks.
| 750-watt card | 970-watt card | 720-watt-hour card | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Price | $361 to $421. Minimum order one. | $397 to $474. Minimum order ten. | $359 to $391. Minimum order 89. Brand line also says Sisigad, TST, or OEM. |
| Motor | Attribute and sheet: rated 500 W, max 750 W. Rear hub. The watt-hour field is filled in as 750 W. | Sheet: rated 500 W, max 970 W. The watt-hour field is filled in as 970 W. | Attribute prints 720 Wh, which is the only watt-hour on any of these cards that matches 48 times 15. |
| Torque | Attribute: 60 to 70 Nm. The spec sheet does not print a newton-meter. | Attribute: 70 to 80 Nm. Still not on the spec sheet. | Attribute: 60 to 70 Nm. |
| Frame | Attribute: steel. Spec sheet: “metal.” A blurb calls the bike foldable. The fold-size cell says N/A. | Attribute: aluminum alloy. Spec sheet: “metal.” | Attribute: carbon steel, step-over. Battery position: downtube. |
| Speed | Attribute: 30 to 50 km/h. Sheet: throttle 32 km/h, pedal assist to 40 km/h in the app. Level 5 locked is 32. Unlocked is 45. | Same sheet: throttle 32, app to 40, unlock 45. | Sheet line: 32 km/h for the US, 25 km/h for the EU, still adjustable to 40 km/h in the app. |
| Brakes and lights | Attribute: hydraulic disc. Sheet: electronic brake plus hydraulic disc. Rear LED: yes. | Attribute: disc, and a second attribute says mechanical. Sheet: electronic plus hydraulic. Rear light: reflector only. | Attribute: electronic plus hydraulic. Charge row matches the sheet, 5 to 5.5 hours. |
| Suspension | Attribute: dual. Sheet: front suspension fork. No millimeters. | Attribute: dual. Sheet: front fork only. | Front fork. No travel. |
The shared sheet also prints a tire of 27.5 by 2.25 inches, a 7-speed derailleur, an LCD, an app, a 30-degree climb claim, a rider of 14 or older, and a max load of 204 kilograms. Two hundred four kilograms is 450 pounds. The net weight on the 750-watt card’s sheet is 30.5 kilograms, about 67 pounds, and the carton is 38 kilograms. A 450-pound load on a 67-pound bike is the number they printed. It is not a test this desk watched. The tire guide is why 27.5 by 2.25 is a trail tire, not a fat tire. The mountain guide is why a fork with no millimeter is not a travel number, and why an attribute that says “dual” is not a rear shock the sheet forgot.
Forty-eight times fifteen is 720. The watt-hour box often is not.
Forty-eight times 15 is 720. That is the tank, on every card that prints 48 volts and 15 amp-hours. The watt-hour page is the multiplication. Two of the cards then type 750 or 970 into the field labeled watt-hour. Those are the peak watts from the motor line, parked in the wrong box. The Dutch card is the one that types 720. Shop the volts and the amp-hours. Do not shop a watt-hour field that is a copy of the peak.
The charger, on the spec sheet, is 54.6 volts at 3 amps. Fifty-four point six times 3 is 163.8 watts. Seven hundred twenty divided by 163.8 is 4.4 hours, if the brick held that power the whole way, which a lithium charge does not. The sheet prints 5 to 5.5 hours. Five hours at 144 watts, or 5.5 hours at 131 watts, can sit next to a 4.4-hour ideal once the taper starts. The 750-watt card’s attribute says 3 to 5 hours. Three hours would need 240 watts. The 3-amp brick is not 240 watts. The 970-watt card’s attribute says more than 3 hours, which is true of almost any charger and is not a time. The charging page is why you keep the 5 to 5.5 and throw out the 3.
The pack is 720 watt-hours. The peak is 750 watts on one card and 970 on the next. A 3-amp charger does not refill 720 watt-hours in 3 hours.
Thirty-two kilometers an hour can be a class. Forty-five cannot.
Thirty-two kilometers an hour is 19.9 mph. Twenty-five is 15.5. Forty is 24.9. Forty-five is 28.0. The federal low-speed bicycle, 15 U.S.C. § 2085, is pedals, a motor of less than 750 watts, and less than 20 mph on the motor alone. A 500-watt rated hub is under 750. A peak of 750 is not less than 750. A peak of 970 is not less than 750. A throttle that stops at 19.9 mph can sit inside a US Class 2 if the motor in the box is actually under that federal line. The app line, 40 km/h of pedal assist, is 24.9 mph. The unlock, 45 km/h, is 28 mph. Neither is the federal motor-alone cap, and an unlocked throttle is not a Class 3 bicycle. Class 3 is pedal assist to 28, not a hidden mode. The US law pillar is the state layer. The Dutch card is the only one that splits the cap: 32 km/h for the US, 25 km/h for the EU, and then the same sentence still offers 40 km/h in the app. A 25 km/h European bike that an app opens to 40 is not a 25 km/h bike after the tap.
Level 0 on the sheet says 0 km/h and, in the same parentheses, a walk mode of 6 km/h. Zero is not six. The other steps are 13, 18, 23, 27, and then 32 locked or 45 unlocked. The sheet does not say whether those are throttle caps, assist caps, or both. It does say the pure-throttle top is 32 and the app pedal-assist top is 40. Three tops, plus an unlock, is not one class sticker.
Sixty kilometers is the throttle cell. Eighty is the pedal cell.
The sheet splits range at a 65-kilogram rider, about 143 pounds. Pure throttle is 60 kilometers, about 37 miles. With pedals it is 80 kilometers, about 50 miles. Seven hundred twenty divided by 60 is 12 watt-hours a kilometer. Divided by 80 it is 9. On a 27.5-by-2.25 tire, 12 watt-hours a kilometer at a 20 mph throttle cap is a claim that can sit next to a light rider on flat ground. Nine is the gentle end. The sheet does not name the assist level, the wind, or the hills. The range page is why a 65-kilogram lab rider is not a 200-pound rider with a bag. The attribute “more than 60 kilometers” is the throttle cell with the pedal cell deleted.
The motor is a rear hub. The 7-speed derailleur is for your legs. The hub does not climb in those gears the way a mid-drive would. The hub page is that split. The motor page is why 500 rated, 750 peak, and 970 peak are three sentences. The sheet does not say cadence or torque sensor. A Russian title says “48V sensor” and stops. Sixty to 70 newton-meters, or 70 to 80, lives only on the attribute rows. At the axle of a 500-watt hub, 70 newton-meters is a launch number if it is real: 500 divided by 70 is about 7 radians a second, a walking speed on a 27.5 wheel, not a cruising torque. It is still not on the spec sheet.
The public film is a 3-minute assembly
The brakes are the other unsettled part. The spec sheet says an electronic brake plus a hydraulic disc. One attribute says mechanical. The brake guide is why a cable disc and a hydraulic disc are different parts, and why “electronic brake” is a motor cutoff or a regen line until someone names the caliper. No card prints a rotor diameter or a piston count. The rear light is an LED on the 750-watt sheet and a reflector only on the 970-watt sheet. Buy the light that is on the bike.
Who it is for
Buy a Yeestep M712 only if the quote in front of you still says 48 volts, 15 amp-hours, a 27.5-by-2.25 tire, and a peak you have read on that same page, and if you are buying a quantity, not a single bike off a US floor. The tank is 720 watt-hours whichever peak they typed into the wrong box. Skip the 3-hour charge. Skip 450 pounds of load until someone publishes how it was measured. Skip 40 and 45 km/h if you needed a class bicycle. Skip dual suspension until the sheet grows a rear shock and a millimeter. Skip it if you wanted the Mauser. This desk did not ride it.
Questions people ask
How big is the Yeestep M712 battery?+
The cards say 48 volts and 15 amp-hours. Forty-eight times 15 is 720 watt-hours. Two listings type 750 or 970 into the watt-hour field. Those numbers are the motor peaks, not the tank.
Is the M712 a 750-watt or a 970-watt e-bike?+
Both cards say 500 watts rated. One peaks at 750. One peaks at 970. The spec sheet under each card is otherwise the same shape. Do not average them.
Is the M712 street legal?+
Throttle-only is listed at 32 km/h, which is 19.9 mph. The app opens pedal assist to 40 km/h, and an unlock goes to 45 km/h, which is 28 mph. A peak of 750 or 970 watts is not a motor of less than 750. An unlocked bike is not a class bicycle.
Is there a review video of the M712?+
Yeestep posted a 3-minute-33-second assembly film on 30 December 2025, covering the M712 and the M722. It is a setup clip, not a ride test. Videos of a Mauser M712 are a pistol.

Understanding Volts, Amps, and Watt-Hours
Voltage is pressure. Amps are flow. Watt-hours are the tank. The hangtag that only says 750W is selling you one of those three.

How to Charge an E-Bike Battery: 62 of 106 Fires Started Plugged In
CPSC staff, in the June 2026 proposal, found fire in 106 of 145 e-bike investigations. Sixty-two of those 106 started while the bike was charging. Sixty-two divided by 106 is 0.58. Of 19 e-bike fire deaths, only 2 were filed as while charging. Be in the room. Use the brick that came with the bike. Unplug it when it is done. Do not sleep on it.

What Is a Class 1, 2, and 3 E-Bike?
Class 1 is pedal-assist to 20. Class 2 adds a throttle to 20. Class 3 is pedal-assist to 28. A Tuttio is none of these. The sticker is not the trail.
