Talaria Sting MX5 Pro: Everything You Need to Know
The Talaria Sting MX5 Pro cards that agree say 13.4 kW peak, 72V 40Ah, and 500 Nm. Not a Class 1–3 e-bike. Canada limits speed to 20 mph and prints 74 kg. US shops print 76 kg and, on one card, 55+ mph.

The short answer
The Talaria Sting MX5 Pro is an electric dirt bike, not a Class 1–3 e-bike and not the 60-volt Sting. Canada prints 5.5 kW rated and 13.4 kW peak, a 72V 40Ah Samsung pack, 500 Nm, and a factory limit of 32 km/h. That card’s weight is 74 kg, written as 165 lb. US shops print 76 kg. One of them prints 55+ mph. 72 times 40 is 2,880 watt-hours.
The Talaria Sting MX5 Pro is an electric dirt bike, not a Class 1, 2, or 3 e-bike, and not the Sting R MX4. Talaria Canada prints 5.5 kilowatts rated and 13.4 kilowatts peak, both labeled unrestricted, a 72-volt 40-amp-hour Samsung 50S pack, 500 newton-meters, and a factory speed limit of 32 km/h. Weight on that card is 74 kg, written there as 165 lb. US shop cards print 76 kg, and one of them prints 55+ mph. Seventy-two times 40 is 2,880 watt-hours. Canada does not print that watt-hour. The row on this desk’s list links here.

13.4 kW, and a speed line that will not sit still
Talaria Canada’s Sting MX5 Pro card, Smartwheel Canada’s sale page, and three US shop cards (talaria.us.com, talariadirtbike.com, talariaebikebrand.com). Do not average the weights or the speeds.
| What is printed | |
|---|---|
| Power | Canada and the US cards that match it: 5.5 kW rated, 13.4 kW peak, both marked unrestricted. Motor: DC IPM, mid-drive, air-cooled. |
| Torque | 500 Nm. One US card adds “with a 48-tooth sprocket.” That is wheel torque, not a motor-shaft number. |
| Battery | 72V 40Ah, Samsung 50S 21700 cells. 72 times 40 is 2,880 Wh. talaria.us.com and talariadirtbike.com print 2,880 Wh. Canada does not. |
| Speed | Canada and talaria.us.com: factory limited to 32 km/h (20 mph). talariaebikebrand.com: 55+ mph unrestricted. Smartwheel’s hero: about 59 mph. Smartwheel’s spec block: factory limited to 20 mph. |
| Range | Canada: 120 km at 25 km/h, written as 75 miles at 15 mph. talaria.us.com and talariaebikebrand.com: 100 km at 25 km/h, written as 62 miles at 15 mph. No rider weight on those lines. |
| Weight | Canada: 74 kg (165 lb). talaria.us.com and talariadirtbike.com: 76 kg (159 lb). talariaebikebrand.com: 76 kg (167 lb). 74 kg is about 163 lb. 76 kg is about 168 lb. The parentheses do not all match the kilograms. |
| Chassis | The agreeing lines: seat 840 mm (33.1 in), wheelbase 1,250 mm, tires 70/100-19 and 80/100-19, four-piston brakes, 220 mm by 3 mm rotors, fork travel 220 mm, rear shock 85 mm with a linkage, gearbox then a chain. Canada’s max load is 100 kg (220 lb). |
| Price | Canada MSRP: $6,499.99 CAD plus $249.99 destination and prep, one-year limited warranty. Smartwheel: C$5,999.99 from C$6,499.99. US shops: $4,100–$4,400, $4,399–$4,550, and $4,700. The cart is the price. |
Unrestricted on the power line is not the speed line. Canada prints 13.4 kilowatts as unrestricted and, in the next block, a factory limit of 20 mph. A shop that prints 55+ mph is describing a bike that is not in that limit. Smartwheel Canada prints both: about 59 mph in the hero, and factory-limited to 20 mph in the spec block. Do not average 20 and 55 into one top speed. The weight is the same kind of mess, and the unit conversion is part of it. 74 kg is not 165 lb. 76 kg is not 159 lb. 76 kg is about 167 lb, which is the one US card that did the multiplication. Quote the kilograms, say the parentheses, and do not invent a third weight to tidy it up. Range is either the 120 km claim or the 100 km claim. Both are at about 15 mph. Neither is a motocross moto.
Unrestricted on the power line is not the same sentence as a factory limit of 32 km/h. 74 kilograms is not 165 pounds.
What it is not
It is not the Sting R MX4. The sheets that agree on that bike say 8 kilowatts peak, 60 volts and 45 amp-hours, and about 145 pounds. This card is 13.4 kilowatts, 72 volts, and a heavier print even after you throw out the bad parentheses. It is not the Talaria XXX. It is not a race kit a US shop builds at 82 volts and calls a Competizione. If the listing says 82 volts, 21 kilowatts, or an aftermarket controller, this page is the wrong sheet.
It fails the federal bicycle tests. No pedals that make it a bicycle, and 13.4 kilowatts is not less than 750 watts. The class chart does not have a row for it. A factory limit of 32 km/h is a governor, the same kind of line dealers put on other dirt bikes. It does not create Class 2. The Ultra Bee is the bigger Sur-Ron, 24.5 kilowatts and 195 pounds on the cards that agree. Cross-shop those if the job is full-size trail. Do not cross-shop a 500 newton-meter wheel figure against a motor-shaft newton-meter. Canada’s gearbox line is why a mid-drive can print a large number at the tire.
Who it is for
Buy it if you want the 72-volt Talaria, you have a legal place to ride a dirt bike, and you will read whether the crate is the 20 mph Canada card or a shop card that advertises 55 mph. Modes on the agreeing cards are Eco, Sport, and Hyper. Regen on those cards is four levels. The display is a TFT. The one-year limited warranty is what Talaria Canada prints. Seat height is 33.1 inches on the cards that print one. Payload on Canada’s card is 220 pounds. Claimed range at 15 mph is a cruise claim. A track session will not do 62 or 75 miles.
The price to compare is the invoice, in the currency on the invoice. $6,499.99 CAD plus $249.99 is Talaria Canada’s MSRP. C$5,999.99 is one Canadian dealer’s sale tag. The US dollar figures this desk read were $4,100 to $4,400, $4,399 to $4,550, and $4,700, on three shop domains, not on the Canada card. Do not convert those into one “about $5,000.” Watt-hours are 2,880 if you multiply, and only a watt-hour if the page you are holding also prints 2,880.
